Solid Waste Events

Ewaste EventThe Red Wing Solid Waste Campus is a Resource & Recovery Facility that manages the recycling of commodities, construction and demolition, industrial, residential and commercial waste generaged in the City of Red Wing and surrounding communities in Goodhue County and Wabasha County.

 

 

 

The Solid Waste Campus at 1873 Bench Street is Open to the Public for Disposal:

Monday thru Friday:  9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday:  7:00 am - 1:00 pm

This facility is open to all; you do not need to be a city resident to dispose of waste.  Those using the facility will be required to sort their loads into the proper containers at the facility.

 

2017 Spring Yard Waste Cleanup - June 22nd thru June 3rd

Residents can dispose of grass, leaves and compostable or organic yard waste year-round FREE OF CHARGE.

Residents may also dispose of brush at the brush and compost site at the Solid Waste Campus, located at 1873 Bench Street for a charge. However, these charges are waived for residents from April 22nd thru June 3rd, 2017.  During this time, Red Wing residents may dispose of brush and shrub trimmings free of charge.

The hours for the Bench Street compost and yard waste site are:

Monday thru Friday:  9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday:  7:00 am - 1:00 pm
Sunday:  CLOSED

Special bags are not necessary to dispose of materials at this site, as all materials must be emptied from the containers in which they are brought. After June 3rd, 2017, regular rates for disposal of brush will apply.

**Residents may opt to rent a roll-off dumpster for their spring yard waste at a reduced rate** from April 22nd to June 3rd, 2017.  Roll-off dumpsters rented at the reduced rate may only be used for brush, trees, flowers, grass, leaves and other compostable yard waste.  Contact the Solid Waste Campus for pricing and availability.

2017 Fall Yard Waste Cleanup - September 23rd thru November 4th, 2017

2017 Annual Electronics Recycling Event - October 21st 8:00 a.m. 0 2:00 p.m.

Providing valuable community service, the City of Red Wing is collecting computers, televisions and screens, cell phones, printers and more, many items for a reduced fee or free.

This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, October 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Red Wing Waste Campus at 1873 Bench Street in Red Wing.

This Annual Ewaste Event is available for all residents and businesses in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. This is a chance to get rid of unused electronics, most of them for free.  And, there are reduced rates for televisions and computer CRT monitors. The primary goals are to recover and recycle electronics and electrical products to keep them out of the waste stream. Click on the event below for more information on this year's event.

City of Red Wing volunteers and staff will assist electronics waste doners in collecting the materials from their vehicle.
