Kathy Johnson, City Clerk, Administration Department

(April 19, 2010, Red Wing, Minn.) – Due to the MOVE (Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment) Act, legislation has moved the Minnesota Primary Election to August 10, which provides the additional time needed for military and overseas voters to get their ballots on time. The following City Council seats will be included in the 2010 General Election November 2:

§  First and Second Wards (combined) - currently held by Dean Hove

§  At Large - currently held by Carol Duff

Interested candidates are encouraged to file at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 315 West Fourth Street, during business hours. The filing period is open from May 18 through June 1 at 5:00 p.m. The filing fee is $5.
