(November 10, 2010, Red Wing, Minn.) - The City of Red Wing Utilities Department will have North Service Drive and the access to Highway 61 closed just east of the intersection of North Service Drive and Fairview Lane starting on Monday, November 15th for approximately 5 days. This closure is necessary for the installation of a valve and piping connections to sanitary sewer piping located at the intersection of North Service Drive and the Highway 61 access.
North Service Drive will remain open on both sides of the closure. All businesses and residents on North Service Drive will have continuous access from North Service Drive, however it will be necessary to approach from a specific direction.
Access to businesses to the east of the closure up to McDonalds Restaurant will be from the east, using Bench Street or Old West Main Street to access North Service Drive. Likewise, access to the west of the closure will be from North Tyler Road or the Highway 61 access at Red Wing Avenue.
All appropriate signage will be in place and the project could be delayed depending on the weather.
Work crews appreciate the cooperation and patience of neighbors, drivers and pedestrians during this time of inconvenience. Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and drive carefully through all work zones and use alternate routes whenever possible.Contact: Bob Stark, Deputy DirectorPublic Works Department651-385-5112
