FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 27, 2010
With a full slate of important local races from the school board to the sheriff's race to the state senate seat, League of Women Voters Red Wing has organized six candidate forums across four evenings during the month of October. The first event is scheduled for October 7th and will feature the city council races for Wards 1 & 2 combined, Ward 4 and the At-large seat. Although Ward 3 is an uncontested race with only one candidate officially filing in it, LWVRW has included this candidate in the forum so that citizens may hear the candidate's responses to all questions, too. On October 13th both the State Representative and State Senate candidates will have an opportunity to be heard. Forums for two county races, the sheriff's office and the county attorney's position, will be held on October 20th. Four candidates for the three open school board seats will answer questions from the audience on October 28th. All candidate forums will take place in Red Wing City Council Chambers beginning at 6:30 PM. Written questions from the audience are accepted.
