Have you heard of RAMBO yet? If the name didn’t catch your interest, the work ethic and achievements of this group will. They’re dedicated mountain bike enthusiasts who are doing all they can to make Red Wing a destination for riders of every level.

The City of Red Wing is providing the following schedule of building closures and services for the Memorial Day Holiday Week.
City Hall, Public Works, the Red Wing Public Library and the Solid Waste Campus will all be CLOSED on Monday, May 29th.

Memorial Day Observance. The Red Wing Memorial Day Committee will be hosting the 2017 Red Wing Memorial Day Observance to be held on May 29th. The Memorial Day ceremony will be held from 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. with Color Guards, Master of Ceremonies, Guest speakers, Musical Interludes by RWHS concert Band & Ovation Choir, Floral tributes with firing squad and artillery salutes and TAPS. Mayor Dowse has proclaimed May 21-27, 2017, as National Public Works Week in Red Wing, and with good reason. It’s a department that most of us rarely think about. We go about our day, drinking fresh water, flushing our toilets, and driving on safe roads without realizing the crews who work hard to make modern conveniences such as these our daily due. Downtown Main Street entered Red Wing in another contest and out of over 200 entries, Red Wing made it into the top 25 (quarterfinals) for the Main Street Contest to win $25,000 for downtown! The goal of the America's Main Streets contest is to help promote the importance and strong economic benefits of Main Streets and the small businesses that help them thrive. On May 16, 2017 at approximately 7:12 AM a School Bus carrying elementary and middle school students reported that students on the bus were coughing and complaining of throat irritation. First Student bus immediately pulled the bus to side of the road and evacuated the students from the bus. Another bus arrived to complete the transportation of students to school, while the original bus was taken back to the bus garage for a thorough evaluation. The week of May 15th - 19th is National Police Week. In honor of National Police Week, there will be a Peace Officer Memorial Day Service held on May 17th at Noon at the Goodhue County Law Enforcement Rotunda. Every spring the members of the City Council board a bus and are taken on a tour of Red Wing. It’s not a sightseeing tour, though they are seeing sites of major interest to our town, it’s a work trip. Council members are taken to areas of interest related to upcoming projects, areas of concern, or development that will be the subject of decisions they need to make in the coming year. Hosted by City Engineering Director Ron Rosenthal, Public Works Director Rick Moskwa, and other key staff , the tour is open to the public who may wish to follow along.
