Red Wing 2040 holds Outdoor Open Houses
(July 13, 2018, Red Wing, Minn.) –On July 24, 2018 and July 25, 2018 Red Wing 2040 will host two Outdoor Open House events to display Neighborhood Plans and Park Plans for a number of neighborhoods and parks in Red Wing. The public is invited to attend either event and provide feedback (the events are identical). Snacks and children’s activities are also provided.

UPDATE –The planned No Parking on Fifth Street between East Avenue and Bush Street has been delayed and will now begin Monday, July 16, 2018.
(July 12, 2018, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing Public Works Department would like to inform you that due to delays by the contractor, the dates for no parking on Fifth Street have been changed. Street Closure in the 400 block of West 4th St. on July 7, 2018
(July 6, 2017 Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing Public Works Department will be doing an emergency repair of a water valve on the 400 block of West 4th Street. This street runs from East Ave to Bush Street. Work will begin at 6:00 am and will be reopen when work is completed. Access to Downtown Plaza Parking Ramp will be allow from the Bush St. side.

For 25 years, John Friedrich has been growing with the City of Red Wing both figuratively and literally. Figuratively, because his career has blossomed far beyond the garbage collection route he was initially hired for, and literally, because one of John’s jobs is as the City Arborist, where he oversees the planting and care of the trees in our parks and boulevards. It was his work with trees, in fact, that initially got him hired all those years ago.

You have a few more days to give feedback on the City of Red Wing’s draft plan for accessible sidewalks. The plan shows data and public input that’s been collected so far, and lays out where higher- and lower-priority areas should be throughout the city based on that data and input. Federal laws mandate that accessible sidewalk curb ramps be installed over time to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

Bush Street Closure and W 7th Street Traffic Shift at Bush Street Intersection
The City of Red Wing Engineering Department would like to inform you that Bush Street will be closed to through traffic between W 7th Street and 10th Street for street and utility reconstruction beginning at 6:00am on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 and lasting until November. A detour will not be signed, but drivers are encouraged to use W 7th Street to Plum Street as an alternate route during construction.
