(May 30, 2018, Red Wing, Minn.) - Governor Dayton has signed the 2018 State Bonding Bill. The Bill (HF4425) authorizes $825 million in State General Obligation Bonding funds for a variety of capital improvement and investment projects throughout the State.

The City of Red Wing is providing the following schedule of building closures and services for the Memorial Day Holiday Week.
City Hall, Public Works, Community Development the Red Wing Public Library and the Solid Waste Campus will all be CLOSED on Monday, May 28th.
Refuse & Recycling Collection Schedule:
Monday, May 28th – NO COLLECTION
Tuesday, May 29th – Monday’s Route picked up
Wednesday, May 30th – Tuesday’s Route picked up
Thursday, May 31st – Wednesday’s Route picked up
Friday, June 1st – Thursday’s Route picked up
Laws of Minnesota 2017, Chapter 77, created a new law in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 415, that would require certain types of notice for many proposed ordinances or proposed amendment to ordinances. Only interim ordinances have been exempted from this notice requirement. Steve Anderson recently celebrated 10 years working for the Solid Waste division of Red Wing's Public Works department. Ten years might sound like a long time to be on a collection route, but Anderson enjoys working outdoors, driving down gravel roads in the country and having views of wildlife roaming on the open land. His favorite aspect of his job is how warm the public is when it comes to holidays and hot sunny days. On these days people will often hand out a variety of treats, which brightens the day of anyone on the route.

It’s National Police Week across the country; a time when we reflect on officers past and present. By its very nature police work is hard. They see humanity at its worst and have to perform their best under highly stressful, often dangerous situations. The closure will begin immediately with work to begin at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 15. Access to alleys off Norwood Street will be closed.

(May 14, 2018, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing Public Works Department would like to notify the public that vehicle access to Memorial Park at Skyline Drive will be closed on Wednesday, May 16 for blacktop maintenance.
