Change in Traffic Pattern Downtown Coming in April

Starting sometime between March 30-April 1, crews will be closing 3rd St. from Potter St. to Plum St. in downtown Red Wing. Drivers coming to/from WI will use the new button-hook ramp at Highway 61 when the slip ramp & 3rd St. are closed. When the slip ramp reopens to traffic in Fall 2019 drivers coming across the river from WI will have two routes into town. **The Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge will remain open during this work.** Visit the project website for more information, or check on the Red Wing Bridge Project's Facebook page for an exact closure date, and watch for signs in the project area

Needles and Pills Community Discussion on March 29

Drug addiction is on the rise across our country, and Red Wing is no exception.  We're coming together as a community on Thursday, March 29th, from 6:30-8:30, at the Red Wing Public Library to meet with area experts and local citizens to address drug addiction in Goodhue County. In preparation for this event, the community is asked to read the book Six Years Lost, by local author Ben Schmidt.  In this autobiographical work, Schmidt candidly discusses his own journey through drug addiction.  Copies of the book are available at the Red Wing Public Library.

Intermittent Hwy 61 traffic delays expected March 12-16 for Red Wing Bridge project work

The Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge continues to remain open to traffic, but we wanted to update you on work related to the project that will create intermittent traffic delays next week on Highway 61, which crosses underneath Highway 63 near the bridge. Motorists on Highway 61 near the Highway 63/ Eisenhower Bridge in Red Wing will experience intermittent delays from March 12-16 as construction crews set beams on a temporary bridge that will connect to the new button hook ramp.  The Highway 63/Eisenhower Bridge will remain open during this work. March 2nd, 2018   Contact: Roger Pohlman Chief of Police Police Department 651.267.2610   Red Wing, MN:  On March 1, 2018, at approximately 10:00 AM, the Red Wing Police Department received notification of a possible threat of violence at the River Bluffs Education Center.  River Bluffs staff notified their School Resource Officer that students reported hearing another student threaten to “shoot up” the school on Friday (March 2, 2018).  The Officer immediately started to interview the student witnesses and identified a juvenile male suspect.  Upon consulting w…
