Notice of Proposed Ordinance

Laws of Minnesota 2017, Chapter 77, created a new law in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 415, that would require certain types of notice for many proposed ordinances or proposed amendment to ordinances. Preserving a Piece of our Past

The lime industry has been an integral part of Red Wing's history, and a big piece of that history has been preserved with the restoration of the G.A. Red Wing Ranked As One of the Most Fiscally Healthy Towns in All of Minnesota

  Red Wing residents are fiscally savvy, according to a new report released by LendEDU, and they’ve got the data to prove it.  Using Experian’s licensed dataset, LendEDU was able to analyze the credit scores of citizens from towns and cities across our great state, and pooled those individual scores to come up with an average score for each community.  The report recognized the top 150 communities with the highest scores, and Red Wing made the list!  Our community credit score was high enough to earn us #107 on the list, proving the fiscal security and financial responsibility…

2017 Fall Yard Waste Clean-up Dates Announced

Residents can dispose of grass, leaves and compostable or organic yard waste year-round FREE OF CHARGE. Residents may also dispose of brush at the brush and compost site at the Solid Waste Campus, located at 1873 Bench Street, for a charge. However, these charges are waived for residents from September 23rd thru November 4th, 2017. During this time, Red Wing residents may dispose of brush and shrub trimmings free of charge. Train Derailment Exercise

The City of Red Wing, Goodhue County, and State of Minnesota along with private partners will participate in an exercise taking place on September 19th, 2017. The exercise is being conducted in order to test and improve the community’s overall preparedness for an emergency event. The fictional exercise simulates a train derailment in downtown Red Wing. Exercise participants will practice initial incident response, incident command, and oil spill recovery.
