Advocates from the Hope Coalition joined Mayor Dowse at the lectern at last night’s City Council Meeting. They were there to show their support for a proclamation Mayor Dowse publically shared on behalf of the City of Red Wing declaring March 7, 2017, as A Day of Action To End Domestic Violence.  The proclamation comes in support of an effort to make March 7 a statewide day of action throughout all of Minnesota.  March 7 was chosen as the Day of Action to coincide with the beginning of budget discussions between state and federal legislators; budget discussions that will include funding for do…

Volunteers Requested for the Twin Bluff side of the Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area

The Minnesota Conservation Corps and Friends of the Bluffs will be working on the Twin Bluff side of the Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area on Saturday, March 4 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. If you would like to help, come on when you can and stay as long as you like.  Bring a water bottle, gloves, eye and ear protection, wear layers, and a good pair of boots. Friends of the Bluffs will be providing snacks and lunch. Mayor Dowse Testifies To Senate in Support of Bonding Bill

On February 14 the City of Red Wing Mayor, Sean Dowse, testified in support of the Senate's bonding bill (SF 210) before the Senate's Transportation Finance and Policy Committee. The City and the Mayor strongly support the passage of the bonding bill and are pleased that the Legislature is looking at completing unfinished business from last year.
