High water levels impacting docking location of the Mississippi Queen

Message from Lynn Nardinger, Deputy Director Public ServicesPublic Works Department - The Queen of the Mississippi paddle boat will be docking at the bulkheads by Bay Point Park instead of Levee Park do to the high water levels. Docking is expected to be around noon on Friday and leaving around 5:30pm and returning Saturday at 10:00 pm and leaving Sunday at noon

East Avenue Closure at 13th Street

The City of Red Wing would like to inform you that East Avenue will be closed at 13th Street beginning on Monday, July 18th for utility work as a part of the 2016 Street Reconstruction project.  Crews will be replacing and upgrading the watermain on 13th Street from the connection in East Avenue northerly into 13th Street. The closure is expected to last 1-2 days depending on weather conditions and any unexpected site conditions the Contractor may encounter.  The intersection will be reopened by 9:00PM each day that the closure is in effect and will be closed down again beginning at 7:00AM on the f…

Red Wing Fire Department Responds to a Barn Fire

On July 9th at 5:46am the Red Wing Fire Department received a call reporting a barn on fire in the area of 27005 Lehrbach Road. Firefighter/paramedics were on the scene within 9 minutes of receiving the call and utilized an exterior fire attack to combat the fire. The tin shed full of hay along with a tractor and snow blower was totally engulfed in flames at the fire departments arrival. This fire was a mutual aid fire in the Goodhue Fire Department district. Red Wing Family YMCA Offers Showers to Those Without Electricity

As a result of the storms that passed through the area on Tuesday, July 5th, some community members remain without power. The Red Wing Family YMCA has invited anyone currently out of electricity to shower at the YMCA.  This is free to anyone who needs it; all the YMCA is requesting is that you bring your own towel. The YMCA is open from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Please contact the membership staff at the YMCA if you have any questions at 651-388-4724.

(July 6, 2016, Red Wing, Minn.) – As a result of the storms that passed through the City of Red Wing on Tuesday, July 5th, the Solid Waste Management Campus located at 1873 Bench Street, will accept storm damaged trees and branches at no charge beginning today through Saturday, July 16th. The hours for this disposal at the Solid Waste Campus are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm running through Saturday July 16th.
