Canadian Pacific (CP) will be performing required maintenance and repair work on the railroad at the Sturgeon Lake Road crossing from Tuesday, September 8, 2015 to September 11, 2015, necessitating the closure of Sturgeon Lake Road.
Sturgeon Lake Road will be closed at the railroad crossing during the construction on this project and will be signed accordingly. The contractor working for Goodhue County will have West Avenue CLOSED beginning Monday, August 24th. The work is for the installation of the water and sewer service for the new Citizens Building.
The area affected is the portion of West Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets. Access will be limited to local traffic, with thru traffic prohibited.This closure is expected to last approximately one week, reopening as soon as the work has been completed. In celebration of 25 years of the Flower Basket Program, City of Red Wing seasonal staff along with members of the Noontime Kiwanis group participated in the River City Days Parade held on August 2nd. City staff present were Claire Carson, Maddie Erie, Alyssa Pasch, Amy Otteson and Jordan Juckel. Thanks to all who participated and to Hanisch Bakery for donating 2000 cookies to be given away to parade goers!
