A Silver Anniversary of Color
Red Wing celebrates 25 years of flower baskets this spring, but did you know the baskets started as boxes? The community experimented with metal flower boxes - a few of them remain at the corner of Plum and Third Streets - as a beautification project in 1989. The idea was to add living color as part of a major improvement project downtown.

The City of Red Wing and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that watermain utility work consisting of the general operation of existing gate valves located within TH 61 between Old West Main and Broad Street is planned to take place as necessary the rest of this week. The work is intended to be short in duration and may require temporary traffic shifts along TH 61 as directed by construction flaggers. As such travel delays are expected and motorists are requested to exercise patience when traveling through the construction zone.

The Sustainability Commission will hold a special meeting on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at City Hall. The meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Commission will be discussing issues pertaining to the Community Solar Garden.
A quorum of Red Wing City Council Members may be in attendance.
