All hydrants and mains in the City of Red Wing will be flushed beginning
Monday, June 10th 2013 at 6:00 a.m.
The new Water Treatment Facilities have improved the water quality in the City of Red Wing and as a result, crews will be reducing the hydrant flushing to ONCE this year. The hydrant flushing is done to maintain water quality, remove accumulated rust from the water mains and to ensure that the fire hydrants work properly. Some areas such as dead end streets may be flushed multiple times during the year depending on the specific needs of the area.

The unofficial results of the June 11, 2013 Special Election for Mayor are listed below by Ward and Precinct. Based on the votes cast, Dan Bender received the most votes overall with 945 votes.
Pursuant to the Charter, the City Council will meet in the Council Chambers at 7:30 a.m. on June 14, 2013, to canvass the results of the June 11, 2013 Special Election for Mayor. A Special Election will be held in the City of Red Wing on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, to choose Red Wing’s next mayor to fill a term which expires January 2017.
Absentee voting may be done at the City Clerk’s Office, Second Floor at City Hall, 315 West Fourth Street, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. plus the Saturday (June 8) before the election from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In addition, City Hall will be open until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10 for absentee voting. There will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the status of the Mississippi National Golf Links Study Project and to provide additional input to the Study Team at an Open House scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Foot Room of the Red Wing Public Library.
