We are pleased to announce that the Red Wing Fire Department’s First Annual Fill the Boot campaign was a complete success. Over the course of three afternoons (August 28-30), Red Wing firefighters volunteered their time to collect an astounding $7,735. The amount of funds collected increased every day as firefighters found the best intersections and motorists gained a better understanding of what was occurring.

Repair work to the Universal Playground is expected to begin on Wednesday, September 19th with the pressure washing of the tile. The playground area will be closed through the 21st while this work is being done.
The tile will then need to dry for a week, however the playground can be open during this time. On September 28th crews will begin removing the tile that is glued down on the edges and any tile that is around a pole within the first 10 feet of the outer edge. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) are hosting a second public listening session for the Red Wing Bridge Project. The project includes the Highway 63 (Eisenhower) Bridge over the Mississippi River and the Highway 63 Bridge over Highway 61, as well as the approach roadways on both sides of the River

Beginning on September 10, 2012, Lunda Construction Company of Black River Falls, Wisconsin will be constructing Bridge No. 25606 the Canadian Pacific railroad bridge over East 5th Street, adjacent to XCEL Energy Steam Plant, in Red Wing. East 5th Street will be open to traffic, with intermittent traffic delays and at times short term road closures.
