The impact of Eisenhower Bridge work on Red Wing's historic downtown will be the topic of a Preservation Week presentation scheduled for May 24 in the Indigo Room, on the upper floor of the Indigo Building, 325 Main St. The program, which is free and open to the public, is the second of two local events planned by the Red Wing Heritage Preservation Commission in observance of National Preservation Month. On Monday May 14th at 1204pm, the Red Wing Fire Department received a call reporting a natural gas leak near the intersection of Twin Bluff and Pioneer Roads. Firefighter/paramedics were on scene within three minutes of receiving the call to assess the situation. Investigation revealed that a utility company inadvertently breached a residential gas service resulting in a significant natural gas release.
