You asked....Why are the boulevard trees pruned?

Friday, March 2 2012 12:00 AM  •   Categorized In General Administration
Why are the boulevard trees pruned?  In some cases they look over pruned.   The City prunes trees on streets and in parks for safety, tree health and aesthetics with safety being the top priority. Branches that are dead or defective are removed along with those that hang less than 13' over roads or 8' over sidewalks. We appreciate citizens concern about trees in our community. If there are specific trees or groups of trees that you want to draw our attention to, please contact Bill Rooney at the Public Works Department at 385-3674. We will have the tree inspector or forester take a look.
