The League of Women Voters is sponsoring an event called "Talking Less Trash" at the Red Wing Public Library on February 27 at 6:30 p.m.  The program will be the first official introduction to the public regarding Red Wing's upcoming transition to single-sort recycling.  A panel of recycling experts, led by Jeff Schneider, Deputy Director of Solid Waste, will discuss the new recycling model, including its implementation and the acquisition, processing, and utilization of recycled materials.  After the presentation, the panel experts will answer questions from the public.

This event is co-sponsored by the Red Wing Sustainability Commission to help educate the City Council and the public about the advantages of single-sort recycling.
