Goodhue County Historical Society

Minnesota’s first county historical society and established in 1869, The Goodhue County Historical Society is an educational and research hub that proudly showcases and promotes the county’s past. The museum features exhibits on the county’s agricultural and archeological history, as well as special sections on the Mdewakanton Dakota tribe and Goodhue County’s earlier residents. Kids will enjoy our one-room schoolhouse exhibit, where they can experience 19th century education firsthand. For those working on their own projects, the Historical Society’s library and archives assists visitors with any historical research questions.
