Christmas/New Year’s Holiday Schedule Announced

The City of Red Wing is providing the following schedule of building closures and services for the Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Weeks.   CHRISTMAS WEEK City Hall, and the Public Library will be CLOSED on both Thursday & Friday, December 24th & 25th.  The Public Works Building will CLOSE at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 24th, and will be CLOSED on Friday, December 25th. Individual Household Water Pressure Management

New Pedestrian Signal Added as Part of Hwy 61 Reconstruction Project

Pedestrians and motorists will encounter a new pedestrian crossing signal on Highway 61 in Red Wing that was installed as part of the Main Street reconstruction Project.  Located near Kwik Trip between Hill and Franklin Streets, the system is a High-intensity Activated Crosswalk or HAWK system that combines a beacon flasher and traffic control signaling technique to allow pedestrians safe crossing of a roadway while also keeping traffic flow working when there are not pedestrians or when pedestrians have safely cleared the vehicles' driving path.  The system is one of just three on state highways i…

Broad Street Closed at the Railroad Crossing Beginning November 9th

Meyer Contracting, the contractor reconstructing Levee Road from Broad Street to Jackson Street, will be constructing the watermain for the project in the area of the Canadian Pacific (CP) Railroad tracks on Broad Street; and CP will be constructing upgrades to the railroad crossing on Broad Street, beginning on Monday, November 9, 2015. This construction will require constructing the watermain under the railroad tracks, replacing the railroad track approach panels, and replacing the railroad track rails. City to Host Open House Meeting for Spring Creek Road/Hwy 61 Reconstruction Project

Traffic Control Change - West Third & Fulton Streets

The City of Red Wing will be changing the traffic control signage at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Fulton Street on Monday, November 2, 2015.  During the Main Street Reconstruction Project, a four-way stop was installed at the intersection to accommodate increased construction traffic.  With major construction now complete, Public Works staff will remove the four - 4 way stop signs at the intersection and will return the yield signs on Fulton Street for the signage to enter 3rd Street. Portion of Pioneer Road closed beginning Wednesday, October 14th

The City of Red Wing Public Works Department will be closing a portion of Pioneer Road from Twin Buff Road west to Village Drive beginning Wednesday, October 14th.  The lanes will be shifted to the north side of the road to allow the Public Works crews to excavate and repair a broken sewer main.  Depending on the soil conditions, this portion of road may need to be closed completely to allow crews to safely excavate and expose the main.  The sewer repairs are expected to be completed by the end of the day on Friday October 16th with work lasting 3 days, weather permitting. 2015 Fall Yard Waste Clean-up Dates Announced

Residents can dispose of grass, leaves and compostable or organic yard waste year-round FREE OF CHARGE. Residents may also dispose of brush at the brush and compost site at the Solid Waste Campus, located at 1873 Bench Street, for a charge. However, these charges are waived for residents from OCTOBER 3RD  thru NOVEMBER 14TH, 2015.  During this time, Red Wing residents may dispose of brush and shrub trimmings free of charge. Bush Street Lane Closures, Beginning Week of 9/21

The City of Red Wing Public Works Department will be closing a lane of traffic on various portions of Bush Street beginning the week of September 21st for boulevard tree removal.  The area affected is the portion of Bush Street between 10th and 17th Streets. Crews will be removing boulevard trees in the area and the lane closures will occur only during working hours in the specific area of removal.
