City Parking Ramps

Walker Restoration Consultants have completed an updated comprehensive 10 year maintenance study for the three City owned parking ramps in downtown Red Wing.  This study lays out the planned maintenance for concrete repairs, waterproofing repairs, mechanical/electrical upgrades, and miscellaneous maintenance items through the year 2020.

The three parking ramps (4th Street, La Grange, and Studebaker) have a total of 735 parking stalls to serve local businesses, residents and visitors in the downtown area.  The total scheduled maintenance for the ten year period 2011 - 2020 is estimated to cost $715,975.00.  This is an average cost of $71,598.00 per year, or $97.41 per stall per year.

This annual maintenance is critical for assuring that these structures remain safe for public use and helps to protect the investment the City has made in the historic downtown that Red Wing is famous for.  The 4th Street Ramp is now 25 years old, the LaGrange Ramp is 23 years old, and the Studebaker Ramp is 10 years old.  With proper annual maintenance all three of these structures are expected to serve this community for many years to come.
