Third & Plum Street Intersection Closed October 17th for Repairs

Wednesday, October 12 2011 12:00 AM

Third and Plum Street Pavement Repair - On Monday October 17th, the City of Red Wing Public Works department and MnDot will be working together to repair the damaged pavement at the intersection of 3rd and Plum Streets. MnDot will be milling out the existing blacktop and a combination of both crews will be installing the new blacktop.

MnDot will be setting up an extensive detour of the intersection. Traffic coming from Wisconsin will be detoured south on Potter to 4th street and over to Plum street. Traffic heading to Wisconsin will be detoured on Highway 61 to Potter Street.

The stop lights at 3rd and Plum Street will be shut off which will enable crews to close the existing northbound lane and make it a straight thru two lane road heading north and south on Plum Street. They will be closing the westbound side of 3rd and Plum Street but will allow local traffic to access the 3rd street parking lot from Bush Street. No traffic will be allowed to access Plum Street from 3rd street.

The City of Red Wing will be putting up no parking signs on the entire detour route. We anticipate the project should take 2 days and traffic will be back to normal on Tuesday afternoon, weather dependent.
