Red Wing Firefighter/Paramedics Respond to Structure Fire

On 12/11/2013 at 07:04 AM, the Red Wing Fire Department received a call reporting a garage fire at 677 21st St.

Firefighter/paramedics were on scene within 3 minutes of receiving the call and utilized exterior and interior attack to combat the fire. The fire was extinguished approximately 30 minutes after arrival. No injuries to emergency responders or anyone else resulted. 

RWFD was dispatched to a garage fire, on arrival the crews found the garage well involved.  The fire was extinguished quickly; however the overhaul took more than an hour.  The garage sustained significant damage. The cold weather did hamper the efforts somewhat. The adjacent house was spared of any damage.

Apparatus used on the scene included 2 fire engines, 1 ladder truck and 1 ambulance. A total of 13 full-time and 2 Paid-On-Call firefighters worked at the scene for 2 hours

The cause of the fire, is still under investigation.
