Red Wing Firefighter/Paramedics respond to a search and rescue call

 

(06-24-2011, Red Wing, Minn.) - At 2141 Red Wing firefighter/paramedics responded to West Avenue, on a vacant lot, near the Red Wing Golf Course to search for 3 juveniles who had entered a large limestone cave and became disoriented.  Red Wing Fire Engine 11 and Medic 3 responded with 5 personnel to the incident. Two Red Wing Firefighter/Paramedics entered the cave and after a lengthy and exhaustive search, found the 3 juveniles scared, but unharmed. The juveniles were turned over to their parents.

The mission of the Red Wing Fire Department is to enhance the safety and security of the community by providing cost effective protection of life and property, through fire prevention, public education, fire suppression and emergency medical care.
