Snow Emergency Declared

In anticipation of receiving more than six inches of snow in the snow event currently underway, the City of Red Wing is declaring a snow emergency.   This snow emergency will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 03.  According to the guidelines established in the Snow & Ice Control Policy, all vehicles parked on city streets designated as Snow Emergency Routes must be moved and must remain off these streets until noon on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 03. Levee Road Closed beginning 1/28/16

Meyer Contracting, the contractor reconstructing Levee Road from Broad Street to Jackson Street, will be constructing the anchorage system for the sheet pile retaining wall along the Mississippi River near the boat houses.  XCEL Energy will also be relocating utility poles in this area and due to the tight construction quarters, Levee Road from Jackson Street to the Red Wing Grain offices will be closed to through traffic for approximately 3 weeks beginning on Thursday, January 28, 2016.   Traffic control will be in place and drivers are encouraged to avoid this area. Highway 61 (Main Street) Project - Stage 1 Street Lights

The City of Red Wing and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that the installation of the new street lights along both directions of TH 61 (Main Street) from Old West Main Street to Broad Street is planned for this coming week.  The new street lights are remaining from the construction project this summer and were just finished being manufactured in late December.  The Contractor has elected to complete the permanent installation of the new lights now and temporary traffic control will be required to complete this work, primarily consisting of an outside right…

Levee Road CLOSED December 16, 2015

12/15/15 UPDATE Due to the amount of rain since the December 11, 2015 news release, Meyer Contracting, the contractor reconstructing Levee Road from Broad Street to Jackson Street, was forced to reschedule the water service construction for Red Wing Grain to Wednesday, December 16, 2015. What’s Going on at Memorial Park & the Billings-Tomfohr Conservation Area?

Twin Bluff Water Treatment Plant Open House

Levee Road Construction to begin the Week of October 12th

City of Red Wing has authorized construction of public improvements on Levee Road between Jackson Street and Broad Street.  The proposed improvements include a new roundabout at the intersection of Levee Road and Jackson Street, rehabilitation of the roadway and parking lot pavement, new retaining wall along the marina parking lot, new water main, and a new paved trail.
