All hydrants and mains in the City of Red Wing will be flushed beginning
Monday, June 10th 2013 at 6:00 a.m.
The new Water Treatment Facilities have improved the water quality in the City of Red Wing and as a result, crews will be reducing the hydrant flushing to ONCE this year. The hydrant flushing is done to maintain water quality, remove accumulated rust from the water mains and to ensure that the fire hydrants work properly. Some areas such as dead end streets may be flushed multiple times during the year depending on the specific needs of the area.
Hydrant Flushing Schedules is as follows:
Low Level & Western Intermediate Systems - Monday, June 10th thru Friday, June 14th
Intermediate & Eastern Intermediate System - Monday, June 17th thru Friday, June 21st
Pioneer Road Reservoir Area - Tuesday, June 18th thru Wednesday, June 19th.
