Due to continuing work on the Xcel Energy 69kV Transmission Line Replacement project, the intersection of Bluff Street and 4th Street will be closed beginning at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 6th, 2016 until approximately 9:00 PM on Friday, September 9th, 2016, weather permitting. Crews will be excavating in the intersection to replace the underground transmission line and will be occupying the entire intersection with the excavation operations.
A detour will not be posted for traffic, but traffic is encouraged to use Sanderson Street, 5th Street, and Plum Street to avoid the closure area.

The Red Wing Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) was awarded $3.7 million dollars in funding through the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) for Jordan Tower II, an eight story apartment complex constructed in 1979, during the August 25 MHFA Board meeting in St. Paul.
Work on this loan application began with a Physical Needs Assessment (PNA) completed in 2015 indicating nearly $6 million in capital improvements will be needed in the next 20 years. The City of Red Wing and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that the second and final year of the reconstruction of TH 61 has been completed. The final project signal and roadway striping work was completed this week allowing for the full reopening of the highway. In addition, the regional truck detour is planned to be removed in full, marking the restoration of all traffic along both directions of TH 61. A special thanks to all those effected for their patience and cooperation as this challenging multiyear project comes to a close.
The City of Red Wing will be closing the intersection of Levee Road and Bush Street beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24th. The work is for the emergency replacement of leaking water valves and the roadway repairs when the valve work is completed.
Access to the St. James Hotel and LaGrange parking ramp will be available from the Bush Street side of Highway 61. The access to the St. James lower parking ramp, the Farmers Market and the Depot will be from the Broad Street side. Access will be limited to local traffic, with thru traffic prohibited.
