Sunday snow event - message from City Public Works

City crews will be plowing snow until 4pm today (Sunday, Dec 11) and back on our streets at 2am Monday.  They ask that you please keep your cars off streets today and tomorrow.  This allows them to safely clear the streets for everyone. There are many public lots available and if you have space for a neighbors' car please extend that offer.  The Public Work crews will be grateful.  No snow emergency will be called.

  Come meet your new City Council Members! On January 3rd the City Council will hold its inaugural ceremony and organizational meeting at 5:00 PM in the Red Wing City Council Chambers. A Reception will immediately follow the meeting. City Council members are our government representatives on the local level; come get to know them!

Notice of Availability of an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW)

Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) announced today that the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for Lab USA’s Ash Processing Project in Red Wing, Minnesota is now available for review and there will be a special public information meeting on December 7, 2016 in Red Wing. The EAW for Lab USA’s Ash Processing Project is complete and now available for review. The MPCA uses the EAW and any comments received to evaluate the potential for significant environmental effects from the project and to decide on the need for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) which is a more detailed study of…

The City of Red Wing is providing the following schedule of building closures and services for the Thanksgiving Holiday Week. City Hall and the Public Works Building will all be CLOSED on both Thursday & Friday, November 24th & 25th. Prescribed Burns on Sorin’s Bluff, Wednesday, 11-16-2016, Conducted & Controlled by MN DNR

Levee Road Project - Concrete Repair Work

The City of Red Wing would like to inform you that concrete work on Levee Road from the Jackson Street roundabout to Broad Street is planned for the next week. To facilitate the concrete repair work in the roundabout, the Levee Road / Jackson Street roundabout will be closed beginning on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 until approximately Friday, November 18th, 2016 depending on weather and site conditions.  Levee Road will be open from Broad Street up to the roundabout (including access to boat houses and the parking lot east of the roundabout) during the concrete repair work. Highway 61 Project Concrete Repair Work - UPDATE

The City of Red Wing and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that the concrete repair work needed to move the project into final completion on TH 61 from Old West Main Street to Potter Street is progressing.  The Contractor has finished the repair work within the southbound lanes and is currently working on the repair work within the northbound lanes.  The repairs are required to be completed under live traffic one lane at a time.  The progression of the work is based on the concrete achieving sufficient strength in order to be reopened to traffic.  …

West 4th & Bush Street Closure - UPDATE

Due to unforeseen site conditions encountered while crews were working on the Xcel Energy 69kV Transmission Line Replacement project, Bush Street will continue to be closed between W 4th Street and W 5th Street.  Bush Street is anticipated to reopen on Monday, November 21st, dependent on weather and site conditions. Bush Street is anticipated to temporarily reopen with a gravel surface during the weekend of November 12th-13th while crews are not working. A detour will not be posted for traffic, but traffic is encouraged to use Plum Street, W 4th Street and W 5th Street to avoid the closure area.  …
