The City Council unanimously approved an agreement for $50,000 with Red Wing Downtown Main Street (DTMS) to enable DTMS to address downtown vacancies, implement the Red Wing Downtown Action Plan, and advocate for businesses during the Highway 61 reconstruction and Highway 63 bridge replacement. The Red Wing Port Authority will oversee the agreement on behalf of the City and work with DTMS in the implementation of a workplan.
The DTMS Board of Directors has also announced the hiring of Wendy Ward as its new executive director. Ms. Ward, a Minnesota native, is currently the director of Preservation Napa Valley, a nonprofit organization that supports the stewardship and advocacy of endangered buildings and agricultural landscape of Napa Valley. She will be relocating to the Red Wing area in April.
