City of Red Wing

Snowstorm Information Update

Thursday, May 2 2013 12:00 AM

The city of Red Wing is doing the best they can to address this May snowstorm. All city crews are out plowing streets. No travel is advised because of the snow and downed power lines. Xcel is addressing multiple utility issues including the downed lines and a gas line issue.

The City will not be calling a snow emergency.

Brush and trees can be cut and stacked on boulevards and city crews will pick them up throughout the rest of the week and weekend. We ask that you do not attempt to drop off items today at the Incinerator. The Incinerator will be open extended hours on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and brush/trees will be accepted at no charge.

The small snow vehicles cannot be used in this snowstorm so it will take longer to get to secondary roads and alleys.

The City of Red Wing is dedicated to the ongoing health and well-being of its residents. With its tradition of growth, stability and innovation, city leadership continues to maintain a proactive approach and a firm commitment to businesses, history, natural resources and, most important, the Red Wing community.
