Pat Tieskoetter served the patrons of the Red Wing Public Library for eighteen years providing reference and inter-library loan service. In her final year, she spent most of her time at the service desk answering reference questions, helping patrons setup their e-readers, and recommending new books. Pat will always remember her first impression of Red Wing when she came for her interview, “When I came to Red Wing for my interview, I drove back thinking, ‘This is where I want to live!’ And I was right, not only for the outdoor activities, but especially for the wonderful colleagues I’ve worked with through the years.

Pat Martin began her library career as a media specialist in an elementary school in Hobe Sound, Florida. She later worked in the UMD library after a move to Duluth, followed by being a children’s librarian in Wilmington, NC. Her time at the Red Wing Public Library began as a part time library clerk, twenty-two years ago, leading to her becoming the children’s librarian three years later. Pat supervised reference, inter-library loan, and children’s services for most of her career. She loved getting to know families through library story times and connecting with people through her reference work at the service desk. She cannot think of a better place to have spent the bulk of her career.
