The Red Wing Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is proud to have assisted in bringing a brew-pub to the City of Red Wing.  The HRA made a Small Cities Program Income loan to the owners to assist in the electrical and plumbing upgrades in their building on Old West Main.

It has been decades since Red Wing had a brewery.  The last Red Wing brewery closed in the 1950’s.  But two enterprising men have taken up the charge and are bringing beer brewing back to the City.  They are using old recipes and labels from the past scoured from their visits at the Goodhue County Historical Society.  Scott Kolby and William Norman (“Norm”) are preparing to open their brew-pub this early Fall. The shop will brew and serve several beers and a root beer. They will also sell wine and other beverages along with short orders.

The HRA made the loan in early 2012 and work proceeded quickly since then.  The HRA believes that the brew-pub will become a destination shop for visitors and residents alike.
