The City of Red Wing's Planning Department is developing a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan for the City. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan sets the framework to create an environment - physical and social - that provides for safe, convenient and enjoyable travel by bicyclists and pedestrians throughout the City, making bicycling and walking viable transportation options and enjoyable recreational activities in Red Wing.
The Plan creates a vision and goals for bicycling and walking in Red Wing, furthering broad transportation goals set forth in the City's Comprehensive Plan, to increase transportation options for all users. It examines existing conditions, identifies needs and set priorities for projects and programs. It also identfies potential funding sources and partners.
The Open House is an opportunity for the public to provide input and feedback on the draft Plan and shape the Plan's final recommendations. Specifically, the public will be able to provide input on bicycle and pedestrian routes and priorities and view the results of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Community Survey. Please join the City Planning Staff for a Public Open House to review the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan draft on Wednesday September 7th, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Foot Room of the Red Wing Public Library, 225 East Avenue, Red Wing, MN. There will be no formal presentation and guests may come and go as they please.
