Peace Officer Memorial Day Ceremony May 15th at Noon

The Goodhue County Sheriff's Department and Red Wing Police Department would like to announce the activities for National Police Week - May 12th through 18th.  The public is invited to attend the annual Peace Officer Memorial Day ceremony held on May 15th, at noon in the Law Enforcement Center lobby, 430 West 6th Street, Red Wing.  Goodhue County Attorney, Steve Betcher, will deliver the main address, and Lisa Bayley/Acting Mayor of Red Wing, will read the National Police Week Proclamation.  Refreshments will be served following the ceremony. May Storm Cleanup Continues

The City of Red Wing Public Works crews, along with help from private tree contractors, will continue the work of removing hangers from trees in the right-of-way, over sidewalks and streets this week. City crews are also working throughout the City picking up brush and branches that have been placed on the curb for collection.  Crews are asking residents to have all brush and branches placed on the curb no later than Monday, May 13th.  Collection of storm debris is expected to be completed by May 17th.   Residents may also dispose of brush & branches at the brush/compost site at the Soli…

May Storm Cleanup

  Friday, May 3, 2013   The city of Red Wing has hired five private tree trimmers to work this Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday along with city crews.  The incinerator will be open for free brush and tree waste disposal Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am to 5:00pm for drop-off. The plan for next week will be to continue on, based on our progress this weekend. We will be asking the contractors to continue helping us move forward as this is too extensive for just our crews. Bicycle Rodeo Cancelled

The Red Wing Police Department Bicycle Rodeo scheduled for Saturday, May 4th has been cancelled due to the weather.  The Rodeo will not be rescheduled for this year.

Snowstorm Information Update

The city of Red Wing is doing the best they can to address this May snowstorm. All city crews are out plowing streets. No travel is advised because of the snow and downed power lines. Xcel is addressing multiple utility issues including the downed lines and a gas line issue. The City will not be calling a snow emergency. Brush and trees can be cut and stacked on boulevards and city crews will pick them up throughout the rest of the week and weekend. We ask that you do not attempt to drop off items today at the Incinerator. The Incinerator will be open extended hours on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5 from…
