City Purchases Automated External Defibrillators (AED's)

On December 12, 2011, Red Wing City Council members unanimously approved the purchase of 15Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) for installation at several City facilities. Each year more than 250,000 Americans die from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). SCA strikes people of all ages, all degrees of fitness and usually strikes without warning. Many of these lives can be saved if bystanders quickly phone 911, begin CPR and provide defibrillation.   All AED's are designed to guide untrained rescuers through the process of early defibrillation and initiation of CPR. Outdoor Skating at the Athletic Field

The City of Red Wing offers outdoor skating at the Athletic Field.  The warming house is now open.  Warming house hours are 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. weekdays and 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. weekend and holidays.  There are two rinks at the Athletic Field.  The upper rink is designated for hockey and the lower rink for public skating.  There are skates available for use in the warming house. The warming house will be closed December 24 and 25.  Hours on December 31 will be 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Hours are subject to change according to weather and attendance.  The …

Holiday Greens Disposal Options

Red Wing's Integrated Solid Waste Management Campus is offering free disposal of holiday trees and greens from January 3 through January 15, 2011.  The drop off site is located at 1873 Bench Street and will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30-4:30, and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  All wire and metal must be removed from these items or they will not be accepted free of charge.  Following January 15, standard disposal charges will apply. Sidewalk Installation Project on Hallquist Avenue and Eunice Avenue Planned for 2012

On December 12, 2011, the City Council directed city staff to move forward with a sidewalk construction project in the summer of 2012 on portions of Hallquist Avenue and Eunice Avenue that are currently missing sidewalks. The project will also include a small amount of sidewalks on Frenn Avenue, Pine Ridge Boulevard, and Chickadee Court near their intersections with Hallquist Avenue.
