Snow Emergency Declared

  (December 20, 2010, Red Wing, Minn.) - In anticipation of receiving more than six inches of snow in the snow event currently underway, the City of Red Wing is declaring a snow emergency. This snow emergency will take effect at 12:01 a.m. on TUESDAY, December 21.  According to the guidelines established in the Snow & Ice Control Policy, all vehicles parked on city streets designated as Snow Emergency Routes must be moved and must remain off these streets until noon on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 21. City staff preparing for snow emergency

With the snow fall that is predicted to start tonight and ending sometime Sunday morning, City staff have plans in place in the event that a snow emergency needs to be called.  Public Works staff along with the Police Department will decide sometime Saturday morning whether a snow emergency will be called.  If called, day one will be Sunday December 12th  with no parking on Snow Emergency routes, and day two will be Monday December 13, with no parking on non- snow emergency routes.   Please follow the link for the full snow emergency policy.Lynn NardingerDeputy Director Public ServicesPublic Works Department

Red Wing City Hall Power Outage

(December 1, 2010, Red Wing, Minn.) - Red Wing City Hall will be without power for approximately one hour between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., today, Wednesday, December 1.  City Hall will remain open during the power outage.There will be no phone availability to City facilities, except the Law Enforcement Center.
