American Legion to Install New Flag/Pole on Barn Bluff

Doug Wendlandt from the American Legion Post 54 of Red Wing was given permission to pursue the installation of a flag pole on Barn Bluff to replace one that was there years ago. Public works staff met with members of the American Legion, Elks, and Brian Peiper from Rockworks Landscaping to begin planning. A 10' x 15' flag would be flown on a 35' flag pole. A location was selected for the new flag and the Minnesota State Archaeologist Department met us on site and approved the location.  Maintenance of the flag pole and flag will be the responsibility of the American Legion. Street Closure-East 5th Street Spur Line Bridge Removal and Site Grading Construction

(November 23, 2010, Red Wing, Minn.) - Beginning November 29, 2010, Flueger Construction, Inc. of Red Wing, Minnesota will begin the Spur Line bridge removal and site grading construction adjacent to XCEL Energy Steam Plant on East 5th Street in Red Wing.  East 5th Street will be closed at the railroad underpass just north of the Barns Bluff entrance.  This project is scheduled to be completed before December 27th.  Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area during construction.  The City of Red Wing appreciates drivers' cooperation and patience during this time of inconvenience. Ple…

North Service Drive Closed November 15th thru November 19th

Hay Creek Bike Trail Closure Scheduled
