The Main Event Committee is a collaborative committee of area businesses, organizations, community, and government leaders that are assisting the City of Red Wing to mitigate the disruptive effects of the Main Street Reconstruction Project. The Committee provides effective communication about the project as well as educational and promotional assistance to the affected businesses.
Highway 61 (Main Street) Project – Stage 2 Construction Start Up
(March 11, 2016, Red Wing, Minn.) – The City of Red Wing and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) would like to inform you that the proposed reconstruction of US Highway 61 (Main Street) Phase 2 portion between Broad Street and Potter Street is anticipated to begin construction the week of March 14, 2016. Initial operations will include temporary lane closures on TH 61 for installation of the construction traffic control to facilitate the beginning of pavement removal and utility work starting at Broad Street and working east towards Potter Street. Access closures from side streets are expected and will change as construction progresses along the roadway. Detours will be signed.
The scheduled completion date of this second and final phase is August 12, 2016.
