The Red Wing Public Library has a nine member governing board of city residents appointed by the Mayor and City council, which makes policy relative to the library’s services, collection development and programming, use of the building, intellectual freedom issues and develops and monitors the budget. There is potential for some additional committee work. Its mission is to “grow lifelong learners”. One member may be a non-city resident of Goodhue County. Library Board policies are administered by the Library Director. The board meets the second Monday of every other month at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 315 West 4th Street.
