Channel 6 staff are employees in the Information Services Division. The Audio-Video Technicians, Kyle Fitzpatrick, Patrick Harris and Tom Hughes produce live broadcasts of city government meetings and activities and assist with communications-related assignments and special events. They also help to coordinate all public information with Laura Blair, Director of Information Services to ensure consistency throughout Channel 6, the website and social media.
Audio-Video Technicians operate audio/video equipment including automated camera systems, laptop, tuner/monitors, mixer board, video switchers, audio and video systems and signals. They conduct a pre-meeting check of the Council Chambers and Control Booth to ensure all systems are prepared for meetings.
Channel 6 staff prepares community calendar information and airs the content on the government access channel. They gather information from city departments and the general public; then prepare video or graphics and upload it into the Nexus video broadcast server. This also includes the video-on-demand and live streaming sites.
The Channel 6 staff assists with producing original programming related to City events, initiatives or public information for broadcast. They recommend program ideas; assist with development of interview questions and coordinates on-locations shoots. They then edit raw footage to add music, keys, and graphics.
