Red Wing Local Government Access Channel 6
Mission Statement
The purpose of Channel 6 is to provide coverage of various local government meetings and to inform the public about issues within the governmental arena that impact Red Wing residents. Using cable television as an effective mass media tool, the staff at Channel 6 is dedicated to informing and educating viewers in an entertaining and professional manner. This channel is an important element within the Red Wing City Council's overall commitment to the ongoing continued improvement of communication between local government and residents.
The Channel 6 employees are part of the Information Technology Division of the Administration Department.

Channel 6 job duties include:
- Managing the Community Bulletin Board on Channel 6
- Updating daily and weekly programming schedules
- Airing live board, commission, and council meetings
- Setup and take down of the Council Chambers for live meetings
- On-location shoots
- In-studio shoots
- Writing scripts, organizing shoots, and editing raw footage
- Production of Public Service Announcements, NewsNotes episodes, along with Features
Channel 6 attempts to capture & air most city wide events so those who might have missed the event can still enjoy it.
