The Red Wing Public Library has a nine member governing board of city residents appointed by the Mayor and City council, which makes policy relative to the library’s services, collection development and programming, use of the building, intellectual freedom issues and develops and monitors the budget. There is potential for some additional committee work. Its mission is to “grow lifelong learners”. One member may be a non-city resident of Goodhue County. The term is 3 years and you may serve 2 consecutive terms. Library Board policies are administered by the Library Director.
