Bay Point Park

Baypoint ParkThis beautiful park, located along the winding Mississippi River near downtown Red Wing, is the location for many of our community celebrations.  Nearby is the historic Boat House Village where one of the only remaining "gin pole" installations is located.  This village has provided limitless inspiration for artists and photographers.

Bay Point Park is located on Levee Road, north of Highway 61 along the river.  It offers picnic areas, a play structure, volleyball court, boat launch and a walking path which is open all year long and lit during evening hours.  The distance around Bay Point Park is 2/3 of a mile or three laps equals two miles,

Bay Point offers two open air shelters that can be resesrved by printing out the Facility Use Request Form and mailing it back to the Public Works Department at 229 Tyler Road North in Red Wing, or faxing it to 651.388.0243.  Shelter requests can also be e-mailed to Lori Richter at the Public Works Department at lori.richter@ci.red-wing.mn.us.  For additional assistance, please contact us at 651-385-3674.

Both shelters are available on a "first come first serve basis" after all paid reservations are honored.  Please check the schedule of reservations posted on each shelter.  Rates and shelter information are as follows:


Baypoint Shelter #1Bay Point Shelter #1

Bay Point Shelter #1 is an open air shelter furnished with six (6) large picnic tables.  Each table is capable of seating 6-8 people.  Two (2) charcoal grills are near the shelter for your use.  There is NO electricity available at this shelter.

This shelter is located near the boat launch next to the restroom facilities.

Rates:  $30.00 for 4 hours or less, $50.00 for 4+ hours.


Baypoint Shelter #2Bay Point Shelter #2

Bay Point Shelter #2 is an open air shelter furnished with 4-6 large picnic tables and 2-3 small picnic tables.  Large picnic tables are capable of seating 6-8 people, small tables can seat 4 people.  Additional tables are nearby, and if available, can be moved closer to the shelter.  One (1) 20 amp/120 volt electrical outlet (2 plug-ins) is available at this shelter.  One (1) large charcoal grill is also near the shelter for your use.

Rates:  $30.00 for 4 hours or less, $50.00 for 4+ hours.
