A.P. Anderson Park has a variety of recreational facilities including softball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, play structure, plenty of open space for running and flying kites, hiking paths and a link to the paved Cannon Valley Trail from the lower portion of the park. The distance around A.P. Anderson Park is 1.5 miles or 2 laps equaling 3 miles.

A.P. Anderson offers two (2) open air shelters that can be reserved by printing out the Facility Use Request Form and mailing it back to the Public Works Department at 229 Tyler Road North in Red Wing or faxing it to 651.388.0243. Pavilion requests can also be emailed to Lori Richter at the Public Works Department at lori.richter@ci.red-wing.mn.us. For further assistance, please call 651.385.3674.
Both shelters are available on a "first come first serve basis" after all paid reservations are honored. Please check the schedule of reservations posted on each shelter. The rates and shelter information are as follows:
A.P. Anderson Shelter #1 is an open air shelter furnished with eight (8) picnic tables. Each table is capable of seating 6-8 people. Additional tables are nereby, and if available, can be moved closer to the shelter. One (1) 20 amp/120 volt electrical outlet (2 plug-ins) is available at this shelter. Two (2) charcoal grills are also near the shelter for your use.
A.P. Anderson Shelter #2 is an open air shelter furnished with two (2) picnic tables. Each table is capable of seating 6-8 people. Additional tables are nereby, and if available, can be moved closer to the shelter. One (1) charcoal grill is also near the shelter for your use. There is NO electricity available at this shelter.
