Pedestrian Bridge Update:
The abatement of asbestos and regulated waste was successfully completed this week. This work was required to be completed prior to the actual removal and will allow for the Contractor to move forward with the demolition. The Contractor is planning to start the demolition of the building the week of March 15th and anticipating one week to complete. Starting next week, the Contractor is planning to begin moving equipment on-site and complete the crane setup. The prime contractor Kraemer is planning to begin the drive piling for the bridge foundations on the north side of the tracks the week of March 15th.
Old West Main Street Update
The final plan was successfully approved by MnDOT and is officially out for the advertisement of bids. The advertisement is scheduled to be published in the paper on Saturday, February 13, February 20, and March 6. The bid opening is scheduled for March 9th and received bids will be reviewed for consideration of award following the opening. The actual project construction is anticipated to start in early June and be completed by mid-October 2021.
