The City of Red Wing offers free sand to homeowners

(March 14, 2019, Red Wing, Minn.) – Flood waters, spring rain, and melting snow may lead to water in your basement

In preparation for potential flooding and current run-off from flooding, residents looking for sand for sand-bagging operations can go to the City of Red Wing lot located at 2050 Levee Road. The lot is located on the north side of Levee Road across from the boat storage yard, just past the curve north of Withers Harbor Drive. Residents will need to bring their own tools and bags to collect and transport the sand. The City of Red Wing will not provide empty sand bags, assistance in loading sand, or delivery of sand.
